Think progressive In 1992, our founder Hans Rinner developed the ambitious idea to improve motor bike suspension by thinking 'progressively'. Hans spent a year working out his new plans. After that year he established Hyperpro and began by selling a modest selection of suspension products. hyper 1Convincing bike riders of the progressive spring principle proved to be harder than expected. Hans Rinner therefore decided to replace the standard Kawasaki Z1000 springs with progressive springs. In those days the Z1000 had a problem: due to high brake horsepower the frames of the Z1000 were prone to cracking.
Hyperpro progressive springs solved this problem completely. A journalist was so impressed that he called this adapted Z1000 bike 'the best ride ever'. This article was published worldwide in several motoring magazines and that is how it all started. After a few months, interest in Hyperpro products came from a completely unexpected corner:... Japan. And this is how a Japanese company called Active became Hyperpro's first importer.
Several months later, containers full of progressive springs were shipped to the land of the rising sun. Other countries did not want to stay behind and various importers offered their services. The new way of suspension was born! In the first five years Hyperpro concentrated 100% on manufacturing and selling progressive springs.
At the moment, Hyperpro has more than 600 types of springs in its assortment. building. Despite the success, new progressive products were bound to follow. In addition to the progressive springs, in 1998 the concept to develop the new steering damper emerged: the speed sensitive steering damper. The idea behind this damper is that it should not be felt when the handle bar is moved slowly, but as soon as the handle bar starts shaking it should hold the motorbike in line avoiding tank slappers. The idea seemed to work and soon after that Hyperpro started to manufacture mounting kits for steering dampers themselves. Initially, these kits were made of steel but before long a change was made to aluminium CNC-milled mounting parts, manufactured in our own workshop.
Only a few years later, the first Hyperpro shock was developed and brought onto the market. For seven years this shock was subject to further development. The knowledge and experience gained, helped Hyperpro to design a totally new shock in 2006: the 3D shock, our new showpiece. Our greatest asset is that we have everything in our own hands: from development to production, from testing to sales. To put it briefly: we are unique in the motoring world.
In 2007 Hyperpro started to set up its own workshops to help riders and dealers in advising and installing suspension products.
As this brought good succes, now in 2009 we have 4 own HYPERPRO SERVICE CENTERS. The last founded one is in ROME in Italy, the heart of motorcyclism. Hyperpro is ready to start more...
